We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join the Aldevron team to lead activities related to the optimization of existing products / processes and implementation of new product launches and process changes to support all of Aldevron's platforms.  This role leads the process of exploring and evaluating project feasibility with an emphasis on technology requirements, facility compatibility, and compliance issues.  The focus of this position is on the development of future product lines and continuous improvement in terms of process, cost, quality and production of existing product lines.

About You:  

Position requires PhD (mol bio, bio, biochem, chem eng or pharm sci), and 2 years of relevant biomanufacturing experience. Alternatively, employer will accept master's degree (mol bio, bio, biochem, chem eng or pharm sci), and 48 months of relevant biomanufacturing experience.

 

Relevant biomanufacturing experience (for the stated duration) includes: Scientific experience in RNA and DNA synthesis Biotechnology industry Working in a Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) Working in a GxP environment, specifically GxP deviation and documentation experience Formulation and stability Experience interacting with clients, including quality, regulatory, and scientific personnel Biochemical engineering principles, including scale-up and process optimization Mammalian culture Nucleic acid and protein purifications Cloning techniques Bio-analytical method development, including chromatographic based methods, mass spectrometry methods, and biophysical and chemical characterization of biologics Techniques such as calorimetric, confocual microscopy, molecular biology techniques like PCR, Elisa, Blotting, Electrophoresis techniques, flourescence polarizations, FRET

Relevant biomanufacturing experience must also include (for any duration) the following: Authoring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Leading tech transfer activities Biological assay development (qualification and validation)

 

From coursework or work experience, position requires the following skills and knowledge: Understanding of biomanufacturing as demonstrated by experience with a biotechnology CMO Understanding of statistical methods, as demonstrated by the use of statistical methods including T-test and ANNOVA in the data analysis in publications. Understanding of nucleic acid cloning methods and purification Proficient in identifying, reviewing and evaluating scientific literature to remain abreast on industry trends and new technologies for potential improved product quality or manufacturing efficiency Functional working knowledge in the production, purification and analysis of non traditional plasmid vectors, including but not limited to ceDNA, minicircles and mini-strings

 

Must have a publication record of at least 4 publications
