We are seeking an individual who has a passion for science and relationship building to join our team as a Client Relations Manager to support our Madison Protein services team.  As a Client Relations Manager, you have excellent communication skills that enable you to present technical information to a wide variety of audiences.  You have experience selling and have a hunger for hunting leads and securing new business.  You are self-motivated and able to effectively manage time and resources.  You have demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, and a passion for continual process improvement.  This role is based in our Madison, WI location.

About the Role:

  • Assist in lead generation through the use of online databases, following up on leads from trade shows, etc.)
  • Serve as a liaison for meetings during partnering sessions, trade shows, and conferences
  • Arrange visits with prospective clients
  • Attend conferences/trade shows as needed
  • Responsible for communicating scientific plans and preparing quotes
  • Perform daily order entry including receiving and processing of quotes, collecting and entering payments for quotes
  • Perform client updates to include software management, uploading data and timelines, sending updates to clients, confirming receipt of online questionnaires and forms, entering leads, and performing general 'maintenance' in our client databases
  • Provide scientific explanations, data exchange and interpretation to clients
  • Manage multiple key accounts in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned



  • Master's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related Life Science field required


  • Minimum 1 year client facing experience required, 3 years preferred. 

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • In-depth understanding of biological, microbiological or biotechnological processes is required
  • Ability to establish and conduct clear and professional communications with coworkers and clients
  • High level of organization and ability to prioritize tasks and allocate resources to achieve company and client objectives
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to prioritize work according to changing priorities, requests, or projects
  • Willingness to work in a demanding, client-focused environment and on occasion during hours outside the standard workday and week
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards and trustworthiness
  • Desire to work in a team-orientated Client Relations environment and actively share leads and trust colleagues
  • Willingness and passion for continual contribution to process improvement
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
